The Pregnancy Nutrition Calorie Myth (You don’t need an extra 300 calories per day in your pregnancy diet)

pregnancy diet guideline "300 calories" is a myth

One of the first things you’ll hear from your midwife, OBGYN or pregnancy care practitioner is that you don’t need to eat for two. In fact a healthy pregnancy diet should only add an additional 300 calories per day onto your normal diet.

Absolute rubbish.

First of all, the majority of women are struggling with their weight prior to pregnancy anyway, some are too thin, some are overweight, so to suggest a blanket figure of an extra 300 calories per day for healthy pregnancy nutrition is like blindfolding you and asking you to stick a pin in a lottery ticket and use whatever figure you come up with as your daily calorie guide.

Secondly, there is one thing that all the food agencies, manufacturers and the weight loss industry DON’T want you to know as thay all make $$££BILLIONS helping you with your pregnancy weight loss struggle after the baby is born…

There are a certain group of foods that will regulate your hunger and cravings completely and that will completely satisfy your pregnancy nutrition needs WITHOUT you having to do a thing about it!

So what is this magic food group?

Well it’s not magic, it’s simply clean, wholesome nutritionally supportive food.

1) Clean food is free from toxins

Toxins tell your body to store fat. If there are no toxins going into your body, you won’t need to store fat to protect you from the harmful effect of these poisons, so your body fat composition will automatically regulate to what it needs to be to carry your pregnancy successfully. I.E. it will get rid of any excess, wobbly saggy fat that is slowing you down.

2) Clean food is nutrient dense and is jam-packed with high quality nutrients that will completely satiate your body’s physical hunger cravings.

Let me put it another way, your body is constantly searching for nutrients to perform all it’s bodily functions properly. It’s like a factory producing cars. If one type of component is missing – no matter how small, it will not be able to complete the process. Your body is the same. If it needs zinc and it can’t find it within your body, it will tell you to eat and keep eating until it gets what it wants.

So it makes sense then that if you eat from a wide variety of nutritionally supportive clean foods, your body will be getting everything it needs to perform all of it’s functions (including grow a baby and support your pregnancy). So you won’t get any false hunger signals from your body and you WON’T overeat.

It’s not rocket science, (although the weight loss industry would like you to think it is), it’s just what it is. The body was designed to process and break down natural food sources – hence our bodies produce certain acids and catalysts to perform the digestion process. They are NOT designed to deal with man-made chemicals and denatured food whose chemical structures are completely altered by manufacturing processes.

So if all you want is a healthy baby and a strong, healthy and hot looking pregnancy body then ONLY eat from natural, wholesome nutritionally supportive foods!
